Microinverters vs. String Inverters
When sunlight hits solar panels, electrons within the solar panels create electricity. This type of electricity is called DIRECT CURRENT. Direct current electricity needs to be converted over to ALTERNATING CURRENT electricity so that major appliances within a home can work properly. INVERTERS are responsible for converting DC to AC electricity and must be appropriately selected to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
